A modern-day classic - Our top-selling and highly recommended entry-level pro saxophone!

The AWO1 is the upgraded replacement for the legendary A901 series. This AWO1 brass model is as suitable for aspiring beginners as for experienced professionals.  It's ergonomically one of the most pleasant saxophones to play and has a free-blowing and versatile tone.

Description

Yanagisawa saxes are made by a small family company in Japan that only makes professional quality saxes, and they do it very well. This degree of focus means they are of a quality that even their main competitors recognize as the best. Here at Sax.co our technicians love them as they play straight out of the box and they are by far the most reliable instruments we sell.

The Yanagisawa A901 achieved "classic" status over the past 30 years as a remarkable sax for the price and a leader in its class. With superlative Japanese design and build quality it only ever really had one serious competitor, also from Japan. The best just got better with this new upgraded AWO1 model.

Staff Review

"Yanagisawa have consistently been at the forefront of building well rounded, easy to play and friendly saxophones. The AWO1 is the first model in their series, that falls in line with the entry professional range, similar to the Yamaha 62 and the Selmer Axos. After comparing the three of these horns, I found the AWO1 to be the perfect balance of the two. For me, it had a warm sound that wasn't stuffy in the low notes and was still quite free blowing with a soft level of resistance. It also played evenly and in tune throughout the whole range. All the horns in the Yanagisawa range are of the highest quality and for someone looking to upgrade from either a beginner or intermediate horn, they should find the AWO1 the perfect match." - Jody
